As winter approaches, too low temperatures will cause the water in the fire pipes to freeze and freeze and crack the pipes, fittings and valves. Therefore, before filling the sprinkler and fire hydrant systems with water, lay an electric heating tape insulation system on the pipes and wrap them with insulation cotton. It can effectively maintain the water temperature in the pipe and prevent the water in the pipe from freezing.
Pipes that require electric heat tracing and insulation include: all wet fire fire pipes in non-heated garages and warehouses (fire hydrant pipes and wet pipes in front of alarm valves); electric heating uses self-regulating heating cables to be arranged on the outer surfaces of pipes that need to be insulated, and covered with corresponding insulation layers to ensure maximum energy savings and safety. The heating power of electric heating when working is 25W/m, and the heating cable must be protected by metal shielding and grounding to comply with relevant national electricity safety.
When installing electric heating, you need to pay attention to the following issues:
1. The electric heating temperature sensor and monitoring probe should be placed at the lowest temperature point of the fire pipe, close to the outer wall of the pipe to be measured, fixed with aluminum foil tape and kept away from the heating tape, and at least 1m away from the heating element.
2. In order to avoid interference between strong and weak electricity, the temperature sensor probe test line and pipeline temperature measurement line should be laid out separately, and appropriate shielding measures should be adopted.
3. The probe should be installed in a concealed location to avoid damage. Temperature sensors and monitoring sensors should be placed in the insulation layer, and the connecting wires should be connected with metal hoses when penetrating into the pipe to be detected.
4. Although the self-controlled temperature heating tape can automatically adjust the heat generation according to the ambient temperature, and generally does not need to install a temperature controller, but for some occasions where high temperature control accuracy is required, it needs to be installed before the power box of the electric heating tape. Temperature Controller. The probe of the temperature control box is exposed to the surrounding environment. When the ambient temperature is below or above the set temperature, it can automatically turn on or off the power of the electric heating tape. The temperature set point can be adjusted inside the top cover of the temperature controller.
5. Select the appropriate electric heating tape and temperature sensor based on the maximum temperature that the fire pipe may withstand.
6. In humid and corrosive environments, explosion-proof and anti-corrosion electric heating tapes (PF2, PF46) must be used, and waterproof and moisture-proof measures must be taken.
7. When installing accessories, it is required that rubber rings, washers, fasteners, etc. are complete, installed correctly, and tightened to prevent loosening or water intrusion in the box.
8. After the installation of the electric heating system is completed, an insulation test should be conducted to ensure the normal operation of the system.
